Earth misses Moon on Oct 17, 2024

A special Astronomical event is coming! An Almost Lunar Eclipse. What happens during this eclipse and what do we see?
© Timeanddate - Earth's shadow just misses the Moon.
On October 17, 2024, the Sun, Earth, and Moon will be very closely aligned. However, there will be no eclipse. The Moon is just too high to be obscured by the Earth's penumbra.

What do we see from Earth?

In short, nothing at all. We will only see a very bright full Moon, because this full Moon is closest to Earth in 2024. This is also called a Super Full Moon.

Even though we don't see anything, this is still a beautiful spectacle that our satellite can do!

Happy Stargazing! :D
